An Interactive Moint

The very first post on themointblog has as its subject an unfortunate soul who shares a name with one of our illustrious editors, William Stafford. It’s not actually him. Not at all. Honest…

William Stafford, the proud owner of a 32″ widescreen, JVC television and subscriber to Sky Digital, is sat slumped in the belly of his well-worn sofa, watching something awful on the BBC. Something like “Sell That House To Them” or “Camp Presenter”. Anyway, in a moment of clarity, William takes his attention off the programme and notices a new little red dot on the upper right hand side of his 32″ widescreen JVC television screen. Invitingly, the button beckons the now intrigued William to “press”.

William rises (no, I’m not referring to his homemade dirty video) to his feet, skulks across his living space to the 32″ widescreen television. Practically squeaking at the prospect of how this new magical red button may increase his viewing pleasure, William stretches out his index finger. He launches it into the screen to “press” the red button. Ignoring years of technological advancement, which had led to no longer having to get up to control the TV, William has left the remote box on the well-worn sofa and is now furiously fingering his television set. I always knew he lusted over that thing.

After a short period of frustration and bewilderment, William realises his error, returns to his well-worn sofa, picks up the remote box and uses his newly infamous index finger to press the red button found upon it. He blushes and chuckles as he realises he has been a moint. As great as the BBC is, it is still unable to upgrade your television to a touchscreen via satellite dish…

Red Button

And the legend is born. What a Moint.
